Mother's Day My Style

 

I guess, like all mom's, we just want a family photo. There is an awesome new app for iPhone that turns it into a remote for my camera while it is connected to the Mac. I didn't remove it from the images...I think it's cool.

With a home studio I figure I am entitled to a family portrait on every holiday. My boys are pretty good at looking at the camera, as I have demanded it from them since birth. We are a bunch of hams....especially  after church when all we want to do is sleep and the crazies set in. 

I would love for every family I photograph to be so silly.

my Man Ray inspired self portrait

There were so many reasons I felt connected to this tattoo, this was part of the inspiration:

Man Ray revolutionized the photography world by his rejection of the traditional and the invention of Surreal Photography. This image is a double exposure of his young wife and a violin.

My image below is a single exposure suggesting me as a surreal subject. This is not a comparison, only a tribute to the artist, and a reminder to myself as an artist that only in becoming the art could I ever hope to understand my subjects.
